The Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival is for the wise people who understand that bacon is not just a breakfast item, but a way of life. The Baconfest was created by bacon lovers for bacon lovers. Baconfest is a bacon-lovers' event that takes place every year in Des Moines, IA, the famous hog state. Passionate people come from all over to enjoy delicious bacon, get weird and have a good time.
We take the community we live in seriously. We are serious. The Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival, through donations, giveaways and volunteering, has raised over $1,000,000 to benefit local charities. All of this is done in the name joy, community and, of course, OHHHH BACON!
Every year, the Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival and Iowa Bike Coalition collaborate to organize fun rides for the community. It's hard to imagine a better feeling than riding down Iowa's scenic trails with friends and other bacon lovers while enjoying a bacon feast.
National Geographic Traveler Magazine has named Des Moines Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival as the top food festival in Iowa.
